Light and darkness, heat and cold, wakefulness and sleep, health and sickness...On earth we are continually subject to alternation. It is true on the physical plane, and it is true also on the psychic plane, where we encounter joy and grief, enthusiasm and discouragement. When human beings lived in paradise, in the bosom of the Eternal, they knew only light and joy. But when they began to descend into matter, they found cold, darkness, sickness, and death, and this is how initiatic science explains the conditions in which we live today. But this paradise we left behind still exists; it is a region made of an etheric, luminous, and radiant material where eternal springtime reigns. And even if it is impossible to escape certain alternations here on earth, by means of thought we can rise to this region of eternal springtime, because it exists, it is a reality...When we succeed in projecting ourselves to the world of the spirit, no longer can anything come between us and the sun, which forever supplies us with light, warmth, and life...and fills us with wonder!
