Several times during their existence, human beings have to undergo trials which force them to ask themselves the only questions of real importance: those concerning the meaning of their life. And if they are told they will find the answers in religion, most will continue to feel empty and lost. But from time to time, certain people who are overwhelmed by suffering plunge so deeply inside themselves they find the answers right there. It’s not religion that helps them, it’s not faith that helps them, and yet they find faith because of what they are experiencing. For the truth is, God has placed in men and women all the answers to the questions they ask themselves and all the resources they need to confront the trials of life. Through trial and error, they can eventually find them, and they find them even more surely than in some of the explanations given them by religion.
