Sympathy and antipathy, attraction and repulsion are completely normal instinctive reactions: we like or dislike certain kinds of people. Each of us comes into the world with tendencies and tastes that lead us in one direction or another. Yes, but the Creator also gave man the faculties of reason and discernment so that he would use them instead of giving in blindly to his instinctive drives. Sympathy and antipathy, attraction and repulsion are never reliable criteria. Each of you, therefore, must carefully examine whether by following your inclinations you enhance or hinder your spiritual evolution. It is not a question of going against all your natural tendencies, since some of them are very good. You must study this, with a view to favouring some and reorienting others that will lead you into impossible situations.
