While human beings already possess enormous resources on the physical plane, their greatest potential lies on the emotional, mental and spiritual planes. They are obviously unaware of this, because they have never been trained, so they do not know how to use this potential. So many people merely panic and feel sorry for themselves over the slightest upset in their lives. They never ask themselves if there might be something in their thoughts, in their spirit which might remedy the situation. No, they begin racing about and tearing their hair out; they resort to medication and even weaponry. In similar circumstances spiritual people – in other words those who have understood that the spirit is the one true force – begin by concentrating, by collecting their thoughts, by uniting themselves with the invisible world in order to receive the light, because it is light that reveals the best methods to use, the best way to behave. And in this way a spiritual person soon becomes decisive, serene, and master of the situation. Then, of course, he may seek help on the material plane, but first of all he focuses on more subtle means. How can you expect to settle matters if you lose all self-control?
