Do not imagine that when you arrive in the other world you will acquire qualities you were not able to manifest in this world. If you were malicious, unreasonable, and selfish here on earth, you will be the same on the other side also. In the other world we do not improve ourselves; we merely receive confirmation, as everything becomes clear to us, and we become conscious of our errors and our deficiencies or, on the contrary, of our good deeds. It is here on earth that we educate ourselves. And if we have not begun to educate ourselves here, it is not on the other side that we will begin. On the other side, I repeat, we only ascertain. We can do nothing, as it is too late to put anything right. You observe, for instance, that you were jealous, arrogant, easily angered, fearful, and you can change none of it. To change things, you must descend again to earth and work to rectify your mistakes and improve yourself.
