The spiritual life is based on the immutable law that we must die in order to live. That is to say, we must die to the lower, instinctive, animal life in order to be born into the higher life of the soul and spirit, of God himself. God alone is truly wise, powerful and all-loving, and we must allow him to come and take our place, to reign in us and harmonize everything within us. How do we allow him to take our place? Imagine yourself dissolving in infinite space, in the universal Soul, and ask the Lord to come and take possession of you. Little by little you will sense that it is he who is manifesting, speaking and working through you. You are still you, and at the same time you are no longer you. You had wanted to disappear, but, not only have you not disappeared, you have become much more alive than before. Everything becomes clearer, everything improves, and true life in all its abundance, splendour and freedom begins to flow.
