What do the concerns of most human beings really amount to? …

What do the concerns of most human beings really amount to? Securing a livelihood and a place to live, having a family and the means to feed and house them. However they may see it, they are living the life of animals. Why yes, any animal does as much! What is it then that makes them human? Their lives have almost nothing to do with their will, with their consciousness. They are born, grow up, reproduce, then weaken and die. Since they play no part in what happens to them, they merely submit. We begin to live a truly human existence when we learn to use our consciousness and intelligence to control our life, to purify it and give it a spiritual dimension. Yes, it is then that we can take charge of our life and become the master of our destiny.
