During an Arctic cruise, a woman asked the captain: ‘What will happen if our ship collides with an iceberg?’ ‘Oh,’ replied the captain, ‘the iceberg will continue on its way, madam.’ And the ship? He said nothing about the ship because there was nothing to say. It was all too clear that the ship would sink. The same is true for a human being. If his ‘ship’ collides with an iceberg, there is nothing more to say. Something should have been said beforehand. And what was that? That his ship should have a captain, in other words a head, to determine the right direction to take. Otherwise his emotions and instincts, which always propel the ship forward with no discernment, will drive it into obstacles and it will sink.
