In the Acts of the Apostles it is said that, on the day of the Pentecost, the holy Spirit descended upon the apostles in the form of tongues of fire. This descent of the holy Spirit is actually a symbol which is found in one form or another in all religions. Presented as such, one might believe the holy Spirit to be an entity foreign to humankind, but no, the holy Spirit is our higher self, that is to say the symbol of all that is luminous and powerful, of everything divine. When a human being receives the holy Spirit, it is his own spirit that descends into him, his own spirit, which is his higher Self. We are linked to our higher Self, which waits to enter and take possession of us, but it is we ourselves who, through our impurities, may block the way. If we truly purify ourselves, if one day we achieve true sanctification, the holy Spirit will descend into us, that is to say into our own higher Self, and our higher Self can then accomplish miracles
